Overall this isn't the best place to work. You are outside the majority of the day if you're in Detail or Finish Line, its not too difficult a job, but you get underpaid, and if theirs no cars, you're not getting paid at all, so you don't get paid for being on call even though its 100 plus degrees. In detail its difficult to find some of the things you need, so you have to go ask a manager for help (which could take some time) or you have to explain to a customer who already paid for the service that you can't do what they paid for because you don't have said product. I was told by a Manager in Detail I was close to getting a promotion and that I did I great job, but I should explain I have a disability and was fired from this job for being "too slow" compared to the General Manager, not even two weeks later. Mind you, I had just got to work (wasn't there even 20 minutes), I hadn't even been working longer than two months (basically just started) and I wasn't on the clock so I wasn't getting paid anyway.
Hey guys! We're two Aussies travelling to NZ in a week (27th Feb to 15 Mar) with my pregnant wife (she'll be around 17-20 weeks during the trip) for our babymoon. Really looking for some advice especially regarding South Island, what to do and what we can give a miss? Also looking for whether or not I've mistimed certain places and maybe will need more days. We are leaving from Christchurch airport on 15th March. We already hired a car and want to explore both islands. All of North Island's accomodation has been booked already. Current itinerary: Thursday 27-02-20: Fly from Sydney to Auckland. Land at 1pm. Get rental car, drive to buy some groceries and eat lunch at Sylvia Park. Get to AirBnB, nap up. Head out to Auckland CBD for dinner, explore Queen Street & K Road. Friday 28-02-20: Morning go to One Tree Hill and Mount Eden. Take the Free Walking Tour, have lunch. Drive down to Matamata Shire Rest Cafe before peak traffic hits. Take Hobbit Banquet Tour. Drive to Matamata AirBnB Saturday 29-02-20: Get to Rotorua.
